Beginning Handbuilding

Learn the basics of clay with an experienced and passionate potter, 1 night a week for 6 weeks, Tuesday Night from 6:00pm to 8:30pm. Workshop is all inclusive and includes clay, access to studio tools and firings. Members keep what they create, with at least 3 distinct projects in pinching (shaping clay from a single ball), coiling (stacking ropes of clay), and slab building (assembling flat, rolled sheets of clay). Learn the basics of glazing and decorating, surface design, colorants. Most importantly, how to handle clay safely, and with technical proficiency. must be 14 years of age or older to take this class.

Cancellation and refund policy: Cancellations must be made no less than 48 hours prior to start date for a full refund. If Workshops are cancelled by the studio, a full refund will be issued, as well as alternative dates. Please contact us at info@tokiceramics.com if you can not make a workshop. Time may be deferred as "make-up" time, but only according to availability. Make-Up time is not guaranteed.
